DirectX freezes whenever a game tries to install it
It primarily happens with Steam games, but it most recently happened with a regular CD/DVD install. When it gets to the point of the setup where it tries to install the version of DirectX that came with it, it just sits there for several minutes before a window pops up saying "DirectX has stopped working" and if I choose to close it the game runs fine. It's just annoying with the Steam games that I have to either not allow the task to run in the first place (saying "no" when the confirmation window pops up) or going into the steamapps folder, finding the specific games DirectX files and deleting them.
I've tried getting the latest DirectX End-User Runtime (as well as other DirectX installs), but they just don't seem to work. The thing is, when I try to run the DirectX files manually, they also don't work unless I run them as an administrator, and even then they still pop up trying to install when I run the game (if I don't delete them).
