    new guy-old games issues

Well lads i'll not go into my rig but it would blast most of you away(not) however that it not the reason why i'm writing this, Win7 may have been quite a leap of faith from M.Soft but it never amazes me to see so many versions around again Dooooooooh! keep it up Bill you will soon earn enough to retire on, and will they never listen to the users yes us the people.Well some games just will not work on win7 at all and we just cant go backwards can we oh no!.
So i had this problem i have many old games and now and again i like to play them, for instance Rainbow six three and Raven shield .I spent weeks trawling forums trying every combination possible and getting nothing,it would get to the the part where you can make an option then BLANK I have lost all my grey hair but then I had this thought what if I disabled Xfire well I did and bxxxxr me guys it worked I've tried other games disabling Xfire with success!! So its tools options find your game right click pannel and dissable Xfire, then restart and Bobs your uncle good luck all. Yours Victor Meldrew

Thanks archie 123 will take it on board, the last time i was looking at a compleate reinstall of win 7 profesional and the (possible) loss of data because win 7 professional was ( NOT) backwards compatable with the trial/final version win7. Every one i new had the same problem untill some one on the web came up with way to negociate around the problem, it was a simple and perfect way to install over the beta vesion saving all your files, pics and games etc. Microsoft should have listed it as a magor problem for those upgrading to home or profesional if they did not have another OS to upgrade from and offer a solution but they declined to do so. As i had built my own rig and installed the beta version this way gave me a perfect installation and saved me grief. M.Soft where not happy bunnies at the way it was posted as you did have to change the registery on your compter etc to slap win7 beta and Proffesional to accept each other but hey get it right first Mr.M.soft and you will make us customers happy, it was a known issue for many moons and they knew it fom the start well i'm off to post again.
