Granted, the memory is a bit fuzzy here.
it wont be in Steams they have nothing to do with each other , but you still need to uninstall anything installed through E A downloader through EA downloader

Here's an update

I email EA support and they provided me with some directions to manually uninstall the game. I did so and then reinstalled it. Even after reinstallation, there is no uninstall entry for BC2. I did however uninstall EA download manager immediately after installing BC2 but this never gave me any problems in the past.

Im going to try to manually uninstall the game again, download it and reinstall it with the EA download manager and see if there is an entry.

The manual uninstallation directions tells me to delete
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{3AC8457C-0385-4BEA-A959-E095F05D6D67}

however no such folder in the registry exists... maybe this is the problem? but why would it happen again after reinstallation?

you can actually check it one by one or scroll it down and you'll see the name of the uninstaller on the right pane.(in your regedit)
