Godfather wont install on windows 7

I found an old game that i wanted to play again (the godfather 1) and when i tried to install the game it stays on one file for 20% of the install and when it reaches 21% it gives me an error message saying that it cannot move audiostreams\mx_gf_0.mus from the media (This is the file it stays on). Iv tried running the game in combatibility mode but it does not work. Can anyone help me? It installed when i had windows vista.

This is likely a problem with the game disc, I have this every now and again when installing old software.

Your best bet is to rip it as an ISO and then either install it from the ISO or burn it back on to a new unscratched disk.

You can create an ISO using MagicISO - Convert BIN to ISO, Create, Edit, Burn, Extract ISO file, ISO/BIN converter/extractor/editor.

You can mount an ISO using Mount ISO Files - Freeware MagicDisc Download

If given the option rip the disc at the lowest rate, 1x opposed to 16x and make sure it checks the image.

I tried turning it into an ISO but i got as far as 20% and it stopped making it into an ISO file and gave no error message.

No problem, I'm glad it's working.

Post back when done and dusted.

I'm glad you got it working. :)

As you are new to the forum I thought you might like to know how to mark threads as solved as well as the uses of some of the other buttons.

To the top right of this post you will see 3 icons. An orange (+), a set of scales and a red and white warning triangle.

The orange (+) or blue (-) denotes whether a user is on or offline (orange = on, blue = off).

The scales are used to give rep points; click this button if someone has helped you significantly or solved your queries (only give this to posts that you think really deserve it).

The red and white warning triangle is used to denote either an abusive post OR to mark a thread as solved (just put solved in the box that comes up and the admins or moderators will mark it solved).

I'll mark it solved for you this time.
