Spider Solitaire - XP Version Works

    Hi all
Fairly trivial post but I know people still like playing these Windows games.

This isn't really "Gaming" as it's just a post about those little card games included with Windows.

I quite like Spider Solitaire but I HATED the card designs in the VISTA and W7 versions.

Howver the OLD XP version (with the much nicer typical Card deck pictures) works fine.

Just copy spider.exe from your XP system (it's in Windows==>system32) to any old directory and you can run it from there -- no extra DLL's needed.

Here's the difference between the Old and New

(image enc) Top one is OLD deck (from XP) bottom is the W7 version

BTW It's quite addictive if you've got some minutes to spare or are getting bored at work waiting for a process to finish etc etc.

    Cheers

    Jimbo -

The Win 7 solitaire games (spider and regular) give you the option to use the classic deck.

My eyes are old and tired but to me the classic deck in 7 looks the same as XP.
But then again a lot of things look the same to me after

That's why I failed to notice the original post was back in 2009.

You can also play Pinball from Windows XP on Windows 7... Good times, its a great game and a classic, shouldn't have been removed.

    Hoh wow.

Regarding this category, also, to whoever remebers SkiFree from 95, it works perfectly in a window. But that's the way it was too. Y'know, it's that game where you ski down a nasty slope with many jumps. Then Bigfoot will get you. The author has it available at his site.

And now, my request, where is Windows XP 3D Pinball ? Will it perform on Windows 7 ? Such a magnificent looking and playing game.

EDIT: I did find it and it plays just swell. But there is one small problem. And I even remember this on XP. I check in Music, but it won't play. So then I'm forced to go to the folder and play PINBALL.MID

SkiFree... Yes, I played that on Windows 2000... That was a hard game for me lol. Pinball works fine in Windows 7, just have to get it off the internet.
