    Fallout 3 not working!!!

Hey guys, I know this has been posted before, but I didn't find any solutions to my problem in any of the other threads, so maybe someone has some new information about it. :)

I'm running Windows 7 Enterprise and I've installed Fallout 3.

I can run it through the launcher and everything works fine until I press New Game.

Then it loads for about 10 seconds, all the graphics are working fine, but then it says "Encountered an Error", and it goes through the "Trying to fix compatibility" process.

So I don't know if this is the same error as everyone else, I am not able to get into the game, I can just get to the menu, then when I click play, loads for a second, and then crashes.

I have tried running it as Admin, I've tried using both Vista RTM and Windows XP compatibility modes and still nothing works.

Any help would be REALLY appreciated and I can try and provide more information about my system if needed.

    Thank you very much :)

    Hi

Have you tried updating Fallout 3 to the latest patch version - v1.7?

Try downloading and installing the latest version of Direct X (June2010) from here.

    Hope this helps

Have you tried a different driver for your graphics card?
Either downgrade to an earlier version or upgrade to a later version - just to try an isolate the problem

Could you let us know the specs for your video card and also what version of the software driver you are using at present?

Have you checked this thread... Fallout 3 on Windows 7. There might be something in there that works for you. Be aware that it is 49+ pages though

I've tried several fixes from it, none of which worked, but I can always take a look again... :)
Thank you for trying...open to other suggestions...

Another question, why doesn't Bethesda just come out and fix it for Windows 7.......

Go to the start orb>search bar>type "dxdiag" without the quotes
