Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4

I have Windows 7, 64-bit, but can't install CoD4. I've looked around and some people have said they can play it on theirs, but I can't figure out how to install it still. Do I need to download an upgrade or a patch? Any help would be great! Thanks!

hi candidcamera, and welcome to sevenforums,

what problems do you have with it?

does it install ok, but won't let you play because of punkbuster problems?

    this thread may help you

No, and that's what puzzles me. I can't even install it, it says it's not compatible. But I have seen other topics like that talking about PB and Windows 7, so they somehow managed to install it I thought but I can't find out how.

i found this, it may help:

    1. Delete the string values (Except for (Default)) in HKLM\Software\Microsoft\SQMClient\Windows\DisabledSessions
    2. Start gpedit.msc
    3. Expand Computer Configuration, expand Administrative Templates, expand System, expand Internet Communication Management, and then click Internet Communication settings.
    4. In the details pane, double-click Turn off Windows Customer Experience Improvement Program, and then click Enabled.
dunno if it'll work, but it's worth a try....

Um, I don't really understand any of that or how to find any of the mentioned things. And I just try to be safe so I don't like deleting files without knowing what they are, I hope you understand. But I don't even know how to try to find these things you've mentioned... :/

    Hi there,

I have the same game installed on my VAIO Laptop running on Windows Seven 64-Bit (also COD6 MW2). Both of them running perfectly and smoothly.

My COD4 is already updated until the latest patch 1.7 (1.5 in Multiplayer Mode).

The initial problem I've encountered after installed was the DirectX update. If all the requirements is passed including this, maybe you have some problem in the installation. Try re-install the game and all the patches.

Well, when I went to hit "install", it said the file version of setup.exe was not compatible with the version of Windows I was running, Windows 7 64-bit. Now, you're saying that if I go and install all of the patches for this game, it should help? I just want to understand what y'all are saying before I go and download or delete stuff. (:

I've tried to install the patches, but almost all of them require the program to already be installed, which I'm having trouble doing. I can't even start the installation process because the setup.exe file is having issues with compatibility. Any thoughts??
