Hey Guys, New to the forum...need help !! :(

    Hello everyone,

Im having some problems with RaceDriver: Grid

I currently have installed Windows 7 64 bit home version.

I installed the game and when i booted it up the first time it came up with an error. However, after that i tried it again and it began to work...

The first codemasters video and the trailer for grid both play fine but then after that it goes black! i can still hear the menu music and can do all the functions (pressing enter goes onto another page etc.) but it is just black... i cant see anything!!

I installed it from a genuine disc and wasnt torrented or anything...

Are there any patches i need to download or will it just not work? i love this game and really want to play it!

Also: its on a laptop, does this affect anything?

    Thanks in advance, Chris!!

    Welcome to the Forums
First off, always check for software updates when installing new software.
However it sounds more like a video driver issue.
To start off with, check that your system meets the minimum hardware required for the game.
Then download the latest drivers for your video card.
    Good luck.

    Regards,
    Thorn

I also contacted codemasters about it and they said that i should maybe try running in compatability mode but i dont know how to do it.

Ive tried to follow the compatability mode tutorial but when i right click the icon and go on propertys it doesnt come up with the same screen that it does on the tutorial, there is no compatability tab to change or even look at :/

What do you mean ? (I apologise, im not very good at computer software and stuff!)

ive been reading about and on another forum it said it may be because my computer isnt high enough spec

    This is my laptop spec:
Intel Pentium Dual Core T4400 2.2GHz
    4GB RAM
    250GB HDD
    15.6" WXGA
    DVD-Supermulti
    Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit

even though, it should still load up shouldnt it ? just be very slow and glitchy with poor graphics :?

You forgot to mention the main thing....your Video Card.

To update your drivers for video card, go to ATi/Nvidia/Intel's website then go to download section. You can find latest drivers for your video card there.

I dont know what the video card is...

It just says that it is an embedded Intel UMA under the graphics section on the website i got it off...

is there any way that you can check on the laptop itself?

You can download Speccy and you can get all of your hardware information. It is safe to download and run.
