    Windows 7 which version?

Hi, I play a lot of games on my pc and was wondering which version of Windows 7 is good for gaming, I don't really want all the bells and whistles that Ultimate gives, hence the question of which version is then best for gaming.

For most use, including gaming Home Premium is the best. Anything more than HP is just bells and whistles. If you games are power hungry, I would go with 64 bit.

Premium would be the best. Below that is what..Home Basic? So Premium would do you well. Above that is Professional.

Surprised no one said it, but it doesn't matter which version for gaming as they will all perform the same. Better to get the version that has the features in it you want and/or need, than some perceived notion that one performs better than the other.

Anyone remember the debates years ago about how XP Pro was supposedly faster than XP Home?

If you do have money to spend, Ultimate is the way to go. I agree with stormy13, and if you want a new OS get the version with the most features; many of these you can manually turn off instead of regretting in the future for not buying a different version - this all depends on the ways you use your machine every day and which features can be completely avoided (therefore possibly save some money by buying a version lower than Ultimate).

I suggest that you visit Microsoft's website and compare the editions yourself.
