    Sims 1

I just got a new laptop yesterday, and it has Windows 7 on it. Before I got it, I'd been using Windows XP since it came out (I'm only 15 - I grew up on XP). On my XP, I could play all my Sims games just fine, but this one won't play the Sims 1. I know it should be able to, because it plays the Sims 3 perfectly. The thing is, the game loads, but if I try to bring up the screen, it minimizes itself. I even did the Program Compatibility thing and put it as working with Windows XP with Service Pack 2, but it didn't work - I even did the 600x480 resolution thing, but that didn't work either. So I'm stuck. I'm really hoping I'll at least be able to play the Sims 2 on here (I haven't tried it yet) but I really want to be able to play them all.
Thanks in advance for any advice you can give! ^^

Go to the Sims web site & see if any updates.

Have a look at those post:
    The Sims 2
Sims 2 crashes on Windows 7.
    The sims 1 & 2
The Sims 2 won't start installation at all

    Hi Walker.
I had the same problem with my kids first Vista PC,downloaded the Sim2 update from Sims web site, installed OK,played OK.
May be a update for Win7.

Try Checking "Run as an administrator" and Compatibility mode for XP. That's what I did on my sims 1 and it worked!
