    Hi Swifty

I've been following your post and have just installed The Punisher on my PC to see if I can help. It installed okay and runs in 32 bit colour with no need to alter any of the settings apart from the resolution.

Did you select 'Detect Available Cards' in the Video Setup tab?

    Regards

    Okay.

I installed the game, then double clicked the Punisher game icon. I then chose the 'Setup' option. Another box appeared, giving the further options of Video, Audit, DirectX and Misc.

    In the Video option I selected 'Detect Available Card', the graphics card was found, and then I chose the 1280 x 960 resolution (four resolutions are available: 640 x 480, 800 x 600, 1024 x 768 and 1280 x 960).

I didn't need to do anything else - the game just works in full screen.

    Hope this helps.

    Hello Plasticity.

Yes I have detected my graphics card and I have tried it on all resolutions that are to choose from and it still crashes, I have only got the game to work once.

But I will keep looking around to see what the issue could be thank you Sygnus and Plasticity.

    Hello Swifty,

Sorry I wasn't able to help you (although at least I was able to confirm it runs under Win 7 64-bit).

How are you trying to run the game? What are your compatibility settings for the program? I'm just wondering whether you've selected the 'Run in 256 Colors' option in the Compatibility tab of Properties.

As you can tell, I'm running out of ideas....

Yes :P I can understand why you would be running out of idea's I have tried pretty well everything every combination of this and that. And still no luck I think I am going to quit while I am ahead, I have lost interest in trying to play the game thanks anyways :)!

I haven't tried it - but if you copy the dx8*.dll files directly into the installation folder, it may run properly.
