Shortcut key for Shortcuts not working

    Hello

    Win7 32 bit.

I have a shortcut made to an exe file. Obviously, it opens the program when clicked. I assigned a shortcut key to it under the Shortcut Tab. I tried F7, Alt-F7, Ctrl-F7 but it will not open the program. Am I missing something here?

    Thanks

    Hello Priddle,

It should be Ctrl + ALT + (key you entered). In your case, press Ctrl + ALT + F7 at the same time.

    Hope this helps,

Thanks for the reply Brink. I just tried that, Ctrl+Alt+F7 and it didn't work. I also tried X vs F7 and still did not work. I was trying to set up a single key shortcut to open XBMC.exe where I could use my Harmony remote to program a button to that key to open it. Strange...

    My apologies.

When you enter only F7, then you should only have to press F7 to open the shortcut. Try clicking on the desktop, then pressing the key. If it still doesn't work, then try entering a different key in case F7 is being used by something else.

Strange. It should work no matter where the shortcut was located. How about when it's on the taskbar or in the Start Menu?
