    shortcuts move when I restart

I'm sorry if this has already been answered but I searched and couldn't find anything that answered my question.

so I can move my program shortcuts around where i want them, but when I restart my computer it moves them all back to the top left corner. How can I make them stay where i put them even after i restart or shutdown?

Be sure you are shutting down the computer properly (not holding the power button). This will happen sometimes with an improper shutdown.

Uncheck both, 'auto arrange' and 'align to grid'
