    I killed windows search

Somehow I have managed to remove all search functionality from windows 7 professional 64bit.
Does anyone know how to get it back?

    • Search box no longer appears in start menu
    • search box no longer appears by the address bar in explorer windows
    • F3 or Ctrl-F in explorer no longer begins a search
    • Windows Search no longer appears in the services list.

    Please help!

Go to Programs & Features in Control Panel and put a check in Windows Search

The problem has happened before. See if this helps

If the above excellent advice does not help, try this.

Lost my search function, can anyone help?

scroll to bottom of window and tick Windows search, that should do it

    Hello,

Uncheck the Windows search option and reboot the System. Then go back in there and check it again. If that didn't works check the link which Rich provided.
