Help with Startup: W7 won't accept my password

Hi,

My netbook - a Toshiba nb305 - is inexplicably not accepting my password, nor that of my wife's who has a separate user account. We know the passwords we're inputting are correct, so have no explanation. We have ensured that the CAPS lock and NUM locks are off (and we've tried entering passwords with them on) so that's not the problem. I'm presently holidaying in Greece, and the netbook was working perfectly on the plane journey over here. Came to use it in the hotel, and it is having this problem. Tried starting in Safe Mode also but same problem occurs. Any help you could give me would be GREATLY appreciated.

I had similar problems with my desktop PC and it turned out my keyboard was bad and doing something funky with SHIFT-ing all input like the Shift key was stuck. Dunno if that helps but good luck!

There may be another key besides the CAPS lock and NUM lock that changes some of the keys to a third option. If some keys have characters in a different color like blue look for a blue mode or function key.

Thanks for your post. I had a similar problem and on following your advice I found I had Num Lock on
