    Default File Type Associations - Restore

    This will allow you to restore the default registry entries and program associations for the Windows 7 file extension type of your choice.

    thnxs @tews & @dwarf

    i had seen "Open With - Change Default Program"
    which makes you dload a reg file and execute it
    is it safe, i was wondering if there is antother workaround for the problem

    @dwarf
    a had tried to do like Default File Type Associations - Restore
    but as i said the option "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file" is greyed out in my case

    Yes that reg file is safe, and is used to restore the default associations...

    I think you've got the Tutorials mixed up. The .reg files are found in the second link.

    Here is the direct link for the .txt extension: https://www.sevenforums.com/attachmen...efault_txt.zip Remember that you need to be logged in with administrative credentials in order to merge this data into the registry.
