    video information and explorer/dllhost lags


    Hi

    I came around to look for a bit of help, i've looked myself in the o.s. if there is a way to disable video information reading but i come to no sucess.

    Seems i got some video files that windows 7 codecs can not read properlly i get a explorer and dllhost hanged :)

    Anyone knows a way to disable that ?

    In explorer (computer), top left organize, then folder and search options, then view tab.

    Check the box for always show icons, never thumbnails.

    It will still read the video, but possibly your hangs and crashes could be alleviated like this.

    not solving... i'm actually using details view and i removed from the the colums everything video related....

    Then to describe better i had a folder with 142 videos, control + a because i wanted to find out how much is it using of my hdd.

    Then ok click in more info at the bottom bar...

    20 minutes later i get no information at all + more info to click again + explorer/dllhost using all cpu.

    (and when this does not happens there's the huge inconvenience of waitin centuries to find out how much am i selecting =D )

    ps: I wonder why microsoft thinks it can make codecs for everything while companies dedicated to video only can't develop that =.=
