Not really looking for 5 bucks, but if is solved how about a big smiley. I think all that have helped would like that.

Well, I'm going to back up everything as soon as I can, this has been a bad day...I could have just NOT installed iTunes, and just kept working on my essay...cause that's what I was doing, when I got distracted and decided to download stuff...stupid
And everyone who helped gets a thank you regardless, you've all been helping as much as you can for more than four hours, so thank you. :)
I'll try anything at this point, to just get that single file back.
And I realize that this is probably SO against the rules, but I would be able to use Disk Digger to recover the files all at the same time (and there are hundreds), but instead, it's forcing me to wait 5 seconds in between each file and then press a button. That's because its the unregistered version...wouldn't it be helpful to have the full version, gosh darn, that would be helpful.
Anyways, I'm going to try what you all suggested, again, thank you, I appreciate it, I just wish I hadn't downloaded iTunes, hindsight's 20/20 as they say....

After 5 and a half hours, I finally recovered the file, thank you everyone who helped, you don't know how much I appreciate this. Recuva finally found it, so basically...if this happens to anyone, I completely recommend this program...
Again, thank you three for helping me so much with this, you don't know how much I appreciate this and how many hours of wasted work you just saved me.
Lets see now. We got our thank yous, but no smiley.
And for a little bit more, tell your friends about us.
We are all really glad for you my friend, and I am so glad that recuva worked. I have suggested it to many and it works like a charm.
Now back up everything.
There are alternatives to itunes if you want something to sync an ipod.. CopyTrans is a relatively good one. Personally, I use gtkPod in linux, simply because it can sync an ipod much faster than itunes does in windows or from a mac. But if you don't have an ipod, almost any media player app is better for just playing music than iTunes.. VLC or WinAmp are about the most popular
Honestly, thank you: Petey7, richc46 and DocBrown. All of you are lifesavers!
Its all backed up, the second I recovered the file, I emailed it to myself and my dad, then put it on his flash drive, and now that I'm home, its on my external HD. Its very odd that iTunes would do something like that...
@madtownidiot: Thanks for the suggestions, definitely will look those up.
Its appreciation like yours, that makes us volunteer to help on the forum. Thanks for making our day.
