    Account Profile Changed-- Help!

I have an incredibly strange situation. Due to a virus or something (virus scan found one infection, but it had no impact on the problem), whenever I login to my computer, it uses the default profile instead of my user account. All of my files are still in my User folder, but it creates a folder in the User folder called TEMP.rTP-W7desk (my computer's name is rTP-W7desk) and uses this as my user folder instead. Inside are all of the default folders: Documents, Downloads, Pictures, etc. but if I delete this folder (which is only possible from Safe Mode, otherwise returning a file in use error), it comes back the next time that I log in. I tried changing the location of the default user account (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\WINDOWS NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList\Default) to Users\Reese but this didn't change anything either. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance
    Reese

Hello Reese, and welcome to Seven Forums.

Thie tutorial below may be able to help with this "temporary user profile error". To be safe, be sure to backup anything that you do not want to lose first.
