I'm using a tool for the autoshutdown, but it's on another computer with Windows XP.
One very easy option would be to execute "shutdown /s/t 'time-in-sec'" . Just create a shortcut on your desktop and type this line and choose an apropriate time (maybe 30000 for 50 minutes)
Your other problem could be solved by the taskplaner integrated in Windows, but I don't know the exactly menu right now and I have to hurry because my computer will shutdown in a few seconds because I checked the upper command and have forgotten how to stop the countdown

Create a batch file with the following:

    schtasks /create /tn "Auto Shutdown" /tr "shutdown /s /t 0" /sc once /sd <date-to-run-task> /st <time-to-run-task>

You'll obviously have to fill in the date and time to run this auto shutdown and then save the .bat file. To schedule it, just right click on the .bat file and run as administrator. It will create this one-time task (unless you want to specifically shut it down every night at the same time, the you can do the "/sc daily" type task) and once it runs once will be done.

Here's a link to the command line options for scheduled tasks:

As for playing music, if you are using the music as an alarm, I use the simple and lightweight program called "Easy MP3 Alarm" that you can find online.

There's a ton of freebies out there. Look through comments to find one that's both easy to use and reliable. A search on Softpedia brings up a bunch:
