jameson, AGuy and Petey are both very smart people. I think you would do well to get both their inputs. They show you completely different methods - either one will work. But you may feel more comfy with one of the methods. I could give you a third method, but I will refrain from mixing things up. You know the old saying:" Too many cooks ..."
Replies to my posts 2 and 11 are full of impatience. I asked a question to find out what to do and to learn. I wouldn`t be asking if i already knew, would i ?. This is not about smart people it`s about someone being able to put you on the right track. I said i couldn`t find what to change. In regard to the registry i am very careful not to change something i`m not sure of and thought AGuy had pointed me in the right direction and i am still checking that. Your`e right, it can happen "too many cooks can spoil the broth".
Thank You, i have done all of the above successfully, but the .pps files won`t open directly/automatically with those settings in place. I still, in Windows 7, have to open Powerpoint first, and then open the .pps file. I went to Start>Default Programs>Set Associations but "Powerpoint is not in there to change to. (See attached).
PPTView is not Powerpoint. It is the Powerpoint viewer (can't edit presentations). If you don't have the full Powerpoint program, that explains the root of the problem.
