    Black User Account

    Hello.
So lately, when I go into logging into my user account, all I see is a black screen, with a functional mouse cursor and the tag in the bottom right, saying the usual "Windows 7 For Testing Purposes Only." No icons, no taskbar, nothing. Luckily for the past couple weeks, my Admin account still worked even though my normal user account didn't. Now, even my Administrator account has the BSoD (BLACK screen of death.)

I CAN boot into safe mode.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you.

    Hi justinmorley,

As you are able to run in safe mode this would suggest that the error is caused by either a start up program or driver issue.

My plan of action would be

    1. run full malware scans (just in case )
    2. Disable start up items and reboot if the system works you can then add each start item until the broken item is identified
    3. reset graphics adapter to default and see if this improves matters

These are only general troubleshooting methods but should hopefully give you a better idea of the issue
