Newly downloaded programs don't appear on desktop.

    Alright, I can't find any dontrefresh file anywhere, no matter how I search for it.


    ... I don't know why you guys don't seem to believe the ever increasing number of us who say we don't have this file... but we don't... so this solution only helps half the people out there...

    ... what about the rest of us? What do we do?

    Try this one.

    I assume your other shortcuts show. Maybe you should switch "Show desktop Icons" (under "View") off and then on again. Sometimes that helps - no guarantee though.
