    He's got a infection.

No doubt. He ran malwarebytes ... but I don't think he ran it in safe mode. No way to tell unless he responds...

I see your problem started this morning. Have you tried doing a system restore yet.

A quick tutorial on how to do it: System Restore

petey7, i posted on the first page at the bottom. my system restore isnt working.

if i format my hard drive, can i keep my second partition?

cuz maybe i can just put all my stuff on a second partition on my main hard drive and then format the first partition and reinstall windows 7.

We all know something is broken. Is it a virus, a corrupt system, a component that went bad, etc.

I hate to be the one to suggest it but the quickest way to get going is to do a Clean install.

If it is a virus its gone, corrupt system, gone, etc.

We could try and find ever service, every app and fix them but it would take for ever

Missed that part monster. Sorry about that.

Your plan seems reasonable. The only problem is that some viruses, if that is your problem, can "jump ship". I.E. copy it self from one drive/partition to another. You can definitely give it a shot but I can't guarantee it will work perfectly.

Yep, leave it to ken to suggest blowing out the OS and starting over. That's probably the best solution.
