    I have used MWSnap for several years. Free. It is not being updated much, if at all, so it could break with the next update. But it is very tweakable. Auto-saves with sequential or time-based file names. Several settable hot-keys. Can auto insert to clipboard, does most menus.

    Several file formats, gif, png, jpg, tiff... Plus ruler, color picker, zoom...

    I use it mostly for just quick snapping as another trail of bread crumbs, when I am doing something new. (As I get older I need more crutches.)

    Hi vermin. If you read the first post, you'll see the idea is to find another way to take screenshots and save them without needing to use the print screen button and then open an image editor to paste and save it.
