How do you prevent auto user lock out on Win 7?

I put in a password for my account and after 10 minutes of in activity, the user is locked out and I have to enter my password.

How do i prevent this? I need the password because I am using LogMeIn (free remote computer access) and i am required to have a password, not a blank one.

I think he is referring about the "on resume" feature where you can set to require a password login upon resume from sleep/screen saver.

OP, can please provide more info like the exact scenario. Like what happened after x time of inactivity did your PC sleep ,hibernate, went to screen saver, etc...

    Hi BucSox79

the 10 minutes sound like the default screen saver time-out,

Check personalise (right click desktop), Screen saver and un-check the "on resume display login screen"

    Screen Saver - Change

    and

Screen Saver Password Protection -Enable or Disable

Next question ... How can I make the computer login automatically to a passworded account without removing the password? Similar to the functionality TweakUI provided in WinXP.

I need this for my fiance's laptop (Vista) and figure it would be the same. Have never figured it out.

    Not screensaver

I have disabled my screensaver, but I still get the login screen after a short time of no activity.

I have looked through user accounts and security profiles, searched a lot, but can't find any reference.

How to I stop lockout after inactivity?

    thanks,

Have you tried enabling the screen saver, letting it do the 10 minute lock, then disabling the screen saver?

Is your computer connected to a domain?

    > Have you tried enabling the screen saver

Yes, I used to run with it enabled normally, but it was interfering with nonlinear editing tools. So, I disabled it, expecting it to alleviate the issue, then the other timer started popping

Not directly, but I do VPN to work, then RemoteDesktopCOnnection, then login to Domain, but I think that is buried inside RDC. It happen with or without VPN open.

But can't you log on a locked account with logmein? I remember doing it quite often in the times I used logmein. Nowadays though I use other means of connecting and remote controling my desktop.
