UK date format in Windows 7 RC

I live in the UK and want to use the day-month-year format in displaying the date.

In Control Panel, Region and Language, Additional Settings, I've changed my Location and Keyboard, and set my date format to 'd.MMM.yy' (short) and 'dd MMMM yyyy' (long). In the W7 betas, this gave me a day-month-year format in all programs.

In the RC, I get the format I want in the notification area, Windows Explorer and Directory Opus, but my other shareware programs (e.g. Macro Express and Clipmate) display American date format in their listings. I installed them in Compatibility Mode.*

Does anyone know a fix for this? - in the registry, maybe?

Just to clarify, does this mean the date within these programs appears in the American format, or (say) in the Programs and Features 'Installed On' column?

If it's the former, I think the only way to make the changes is in the options for those shareware programs, rather than in Win 7.

Yes. There is no option for changing the date format in any of the programs - and the date displayed correctly (i.e. in my chosen, UK format) in the pre-RC betas. So something has changed. But what?

Ok Mary, I've tried installing the two examples you gave (Clipmate and Macro Express) onto my 7 RC and managed to get the UK date format, see attachments. The only difference (I think) is that I didn't install the programs in compatibility mode. According to both respective websites, there's no mention of Windows 7, but they might be directly usable.

I want to report that my problem with UK date/time format not displaying in several shareware programs has magically cleared up. I didn't do anything to make it happen, because I couldn't think of anything to do. Maybe an update did it?

I think MS designs things that way Mary, just to keep us on our toes. LOL.

    Glad it's fixed.
