    Recover a formatted partition

I accidentally formatted by E drive when I meant to click the F drive. How do I recover the data on my E drive? I haven't done anything to the partition since then.

I have several videos, music, and word files on it. I can always download the movies and videos again, but the word files take me a few hours worth of typing to remake.

    Any suggestions?

Recuva might be able to help, but I can make no promises. Also, did you did a full or quick format?

I believe it was quick format.

Then that increases the chance of recuva and other software finding files by a lot.

jaggermeister, do not follow that link. What he suggest is called piracy, and is illegal. If you get caught using pirated software, the punishment is pretty steep, the actual punishment varying by location.

If you check the link you will find you are wrong, please get your facts right before accusing somebody of piracy.
