HELP!!!Desktop turns on, but NOTHING happens

    Here's the specs:

    MOBO: Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-US2H
CPU: AMD Phenom 9950 Quad Core
    RAM: 4gb OCZ PC2 6400 Gold Series
Graphics is built in with the MOBO (ATI Radeon HD 3200)
Hard Drive: Seagate 500GB 32MB cache 7200 RPM 3.5" Barracuda
    PSU: Stealth X Stream 500W
    Cooling: G-Power Lite Cooler (GH-PDU22-SC)

It's a newly build computer, about a month old. Running x64 7077. Haven't had any prior problems.

Today, when it was turned on about 2 hours ago, it comes on, but nothing shows up on the monitor. I can see and hear the fans running. The DVD drive opens, but closes right away. The power button on the front doesn't light up and I can't turn it off by holding the power button. When it starts, it doesn't make any beeping sounds, but it does make sound like it's reading from hard drive.

I powered off from the back and as soon as I power it back on from the back, it starts again. Still have no screen and can't power on/off using power button in front.

The monitor gives the "No Signal" message. But the monitor works because I was able to connect it to my laptop.

Any help in fixing this issue would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

Edit: Don't know if this is the right place to post this thread. If not, you can move it to the appropriate section mods. Thanks

Edit: Mods you can close this thread as the problem is resolved.

Disconnect/remove all devices, reseat the memory and check that the heatsink on the cpu is secure. With all devices disconnected power the machine on. If there is still nothing on the screen try resetting the bios. Report back with an update and we'll go from there.

When you say disconnect/remove all devices, do you mean disconnecting the hard drive, dvd drive from the MOBO?

I reseated the memory with no luck. The heatsink on cpu is secure.

How would I reset the bios if I can't get anything on the screen?

Not an expert on computers so bear with me if I make dumb comments.

I can't get to any screen so I can't start in safe mode.

Yes that's exactly what I mean. As for resetting the bios, this is usually done via a jumper on the mobo. Look in the installation manual and it will tell you how to do this.

Restart the PC, and keep pressing F8 continually until you get a screen/Window, and it will give you different options to start the computer .

Hi Anthony, yes his mobo has an onboard chip (integrated graphics). It's very similar to the board in my server.
