    Icon in taskbar not behaving the way I want...


    On my task bar I have my Firefox icon in the lower left. If I click on it, Firefox opens. Great. With my older XP computer, every time I click on that FF icon in the taskbar, it gives me another FF window. But in Winows7, If I click on the FF icon a gain, it just brings up the current -already open - FF window. There are work-arounds, but I would prefer the icon to always open a new window, not just open up the existing window.
    The other icon on the taskbar - windows explorer - seems to have the same issue.

    any way to change this?

    If it works like IE, right click on the icon. You should get a menu that lets you choose another window.

    yes, but that is a work around and more work than just 1-left-click on the icon which is what I want.

    Well, I will watch this thread, too. That is the way I have been using IE. If someone comes along with a better method, we will both learn.

Hello, I am currently trying to pin some remote applications to the taskbar. I have created shortcuts and pinned them to the taskbar only when I click them, they don't show active. Instead, a new item opens up on the taskbar... so now I have two icons to do the job of one. Any way around this?
I installed a program yesterday and pinned an icon onto my taskbar. I've noticed today that the icon has gone and has been replaced by the default windows icon (red, blue white). Even if I go into properties, change icon etc, nothing happens. What can I do? Thanks to whoever can offer...
For some reason FireFox doesnt want me to use my own icon for it in the taskbar. ill change the icon, pin it to the taskbar, click the new icon and itll open up a new firefox default icon on the taskbar so there will be 2. anyway around this?
