I actually tried this but it didn't work. And I am admin on the system, but even though I checked Run as Admin. I chose Vista 64 as the compatiblity OS selection since Win7 is 64 bit too. Didn't work though. I never got an error message but never got a completion either, and I have no folder for the ocr program, Omnipage, in Program Files nor do I have anything in Start.

    Can't figure it out.
Try to select XP SP2 for compatibility and see what happens.

OK, I'm at a loss as well, did you check to see if Omnipage has an upgrade?

Yes. Not for free. They want you to purchase the new version and it's too expensive for me. I still have a feeling there has got to be a way to install it.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

My OCR needs are very minimal but I have a version of Abbyy Finereader that came with my Lexmark AIO printer that SEEMS to work pretty well with Win7 64 bit even with my Canon LIDE. They have a trial version and the Express version is $50 USD.

Thanks for your help! If I figure it out I'll try to remember to post how here.
