    read mac files


    Is there any way to read a Mac file without an extension? I received a few files from a Mac friend, but cannot read them.

    Try right-clicking on the file(s) and use Open With to open it/them in Notepad.

    Manually append the file extension by simply renaming the file. For example, rename "Document" to "Document.doc"

    Edit: or have your friend save or rename the file with the file extension. Either way will work.

    Yep, either add the extension yourself, or ask your friend what file type they should be if you aren't sure.

I was running dualboot with vista64 and win764 on my main HDD and then I had them both pointing to a secondary HDD for all of my personal files, the problem is that I think 7 made everything on my secondary drive read-only and no matter what I do I cannot change them back so that I can edit files...
I've installed fallout but can't get it to run,seemingly because my DOCUMENTS library won't turn off read-only status for My games (or anything else). I've run through ownerships+permissions as best I can but I can't get rid of read-only,which seems VERY odd for a documents folder ;Can anyone...
