Trouble opening program with laptop due to dual monitors

I have a laptop that plugs into a docking station that runs dual monitors.

I brought the laptop on a road trip and I'm trying to open a program and everytime I open it, it goes into where it would be on the other monitor.

I can't get it on the laptop screen. Any help or ideas would be much appreciated.

    Thanks.

I believe you can re-designate the primary monitor.
Change display settings on multiple monitors

Welcome to Seven Forums grantdovey. Right click on an empty space on your desktop, click on Screen resolution. See if 2 monitors show. If so, click on the 2nd monitor (you can use the identify button to confirm which is the laptop). Change the setting of the 2nd monitor under Multiple displays to Show desktop only on 1.

Now everything should open on the laptop. If 2 monitors don't show, you would likely have to use the dock, and make sure you move the program to the primary monitor before you close it.

The Win + P shortcut cycles through the various display functions, too. Set it to "Computer Only" and everything should come back on to the main screen, I think.
