    file extension doesn't show up

I would like to change the default program for .pdf from TeXworks to foxit reader, but the file extension .pdf doesn't show up
foxit also doesn't show up in the set default programs
i can "open with" foxit and texworks, i would just like to quickly be able to open .pdfs with a double click

Hi aeemnsru. When you right-click and then "open with" do you see a "Choose default program" choice? If so, note the "Always use..." checkbox. See if that works.

Welcome to Seven Forums aeemnrsu. To set Foxit as default program for pdf files:

Open Foxit Reader, go to the Help menu, and select Set to Default PDF Reader.

To set as default from within Windows 7. Go to Control Panel> Programs> Default Programs> Set Default Programs, set the default program there.

If no Foxit option in default programs, suggest uninstall and reinstall Foxit. Or d/l Foxit, and click on installer and see if there is a repair option.

If no pdf files show the file extension.

Open any folder (Windows Explorer)> Click on Organize in menu> On drop down menu choose Folder and Search Options> On View tab, scroll down to Hide Extensions For Known File Types, and untick box> Apply and OK your way out
