File Sorting

    File Sorting


    I am trying to figure out if it's possible to ignore the articles in a file name (i.e. A, An, The) for sorting purposes.

    More specifically, I want to organize my music folder and I want the folder for "The Beatles" to sort with the other letter "B" artists instead of with the "T" artists.

    I have tried searching all over Google, but I haven't been able to find any answers. Does anyone know if this is possible?

    Other then writting "The Beatles" as "Beatles, The" ...never found a means in Explorer.

    Your best chance may be a file management program, or a media library that uses mp3 tags or other info. You might find something with custom settings on one of the download sites like Softpedia or similar.

    Speaking of which, I use a DVD catalog program that can be set to automatically but the articles at the end of the name. It's Personal Video Database. It's mainly set up to do video but there may be plugins for auto search of audio stuff too. It's free. You can check it out here:
