GPP Adding printers slow, Vbscript hit and miss

Got a real issue with Windows 7 and printers,

We used a vbscript in the past to add to shared printers which worked great in XP, however that same vbscript is very hit and miss in a domain environment whereby sometimes printers map, sometimes they don't.

So i moved to using Group Policy Preferences, and that killed the logon speed, the duration is as much as 5-6 minutes to logon.

So what do i do?

Any had same probs?

Curious that you're getting such a hit on GPO. What are your settings for processing? Are you applying lots of GPO's or one? Do you have loop back processing enabled? What's your network like?

Computer-wide adding network printers
Is there a way to add networked printers at the computer level (e.g. globally across all user accounts that ever log onto the machine)? As far as I know the only way to add printers is on a per-user basis.

Stop Windows 7 From Auto Adding Printers
I've installed the printer I want to use, but every time I restart, it seems Windows 7 adds some network printers, and then changes my default printer. Is there a way to stop this? Joe
