Multiple problems/questions from a Seven newbie

First problem - somehow the 'pictures' and 'documents' items that show up when you click the start button do not take me to where we have the pictures and documents stored. We have them stored in c:\users\<user name>\my pictures and
c:\users\<user name>\my documents.

I have no idea where those 2 itms off the start menu are taking me. Clicking on either does nothing, and as I've found out, right clicking to see where they are trying to take me does not work.

Secondly, I can't get Abode Reader 9.3 to work. I dowloaded the exec file for 9.3.4, but when I run it I get "error 1606: could not access network location
%appdata%. When I try to uninstall 9.3 via the control panel, I get the exact same message. I have even tried to use killbox to simply remove the abode folder, but I ultimately get a msg - this file could not be deleted.

Third, we use the AOL software here, and when we start our PC we get a msg that the main.idx file is damaged. Same msg when we click on the AOL icon. We CAN, however start aol when we use safe mode with networking.

Never had these problems with XP.

And is that NOT where I said our pictures and documents were located in my original post?

I have both Documents and Picures 'displayed as a link' on the Start Menu properties. When I right click on my user name I DO NOT get a Libraries window. I get a screen that displays all the folders under my user name - among them 'My Pictures' and 'My Documents'.

I'm just telling you where those buttons (Document and Pictures) in the start menu go.
I have no idea what it is you are seeing on your computer, I'm not psychic.

You can't be very psychic to imagine that I'm gonna order a book before I can get the items in my start menu to take me to

c:\users\<user name>\my pictures
and
c:\users\<user name>\my documents?

they way it always did in XP. Not even a hint of psychic ability...

Some newbie questions after ugrading GPU.
Hi, I just upgraded my GPU to an AMD r9-290 Vapor. I am still using my old Antec 900 case and the wires are a bit cluttered after fitting in that GPU. I have wires sitting on top of the GPU and some wires touching the side of the GPU's heatsink. Do I need to worry about the wires melting? The...

Newbie W7 questions
I just installed windows 7, last night (literally). Even though I'm not using it right now (I am at school), I have a few questions to ask. I figure putting them all in one thread would be more more considerate instead of making 5 or 6 threads... 1. Is there a way to change the time the system...

Newbie questions
Hi, I'm new here - I have been having problems with Windows XP Pro 64 since the moment I installed it, and thought I would try out Windows 7 64 to see how much things have improved. In many ways I like it better, but I did have some questions. First, I am running build 7000 - by running...
