    Taskbar Hover flickering [Possibly solved for good]


    Been searching on here on how to fix this issue, and I think I figured out how to fix it. At least, it is now working again for me.

    1. Open regedit.exe
    2. Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop
    3. Locate ForegroundFlashCount
    4. Change the value to 0
    5. Close regedit

    After I did this, my taskbar thumbnails quit flickering. Took it about 10 seconds for Windows to notice the registry change, and all has been well.



    Nevermind, it only seemed to fix it for about 10 minutes, and then it reverted back.

    Still no relief. You know this 'flickering' when hovering is a giant cancer. It also affects thingds such as forum threads. e.g. when one hovers over thread titles you can see what's been posted inside. This too flickers.

    Have you ran an sfc/scannow to see if any files are corrupted? Luckily I've never seen the "flickering" you're talking about.

    If you update your specs it would help. Knowing things like what mouse you use ect. Please take a look at my specs in lower left of this post. It will give you a idea of what I mean.

    Did you read through the Tutorials I posted?
    A weak or blocked mouse signal can cause this problem. (weak batteries)
