    little problem with context menu

I hope that I can get help at this, as it annoyes me a lot.
Wheh I insert a movie (DVD), and rightclick on the Drive's icon, and select the very first option Play, I just get a small window saying that the file could not be found (??).
It is NOT autoplay I'm looking for, but a way to get the contex menu working again. I can't find any settings in mediaplayer to "reset" the contex menu. It happens after I installed the Danish language pack.

I don't think my very old Clean Sweep for XP is very good to edit the reg.database in Win7 .

Can anybody help? Thanks in advance.

This is for XP Pro (I'm at work), but I'm pretty sure the menus are not much different.

You have to show the Menu Bar in an explorer window to get Tools to show up, but click on Tools -> then Folder Options -> then the File Types tab.

Find DVD in the list and select it.

Click Advanced button at the bottom.

(If &Play is already listed there, I would say delete it and create a new one. Or you could edit the existing one)

After clicking New or Edit, fill in:
    Action: &Play
Application used to perform action: "[Your Path to WMP]\wmplayer.exe" /prefetch:4 /device:DVD "%L"

Click 'Use DDE' checkbox and fill in:
    Application: wmplayer
    Topic: System

Click Ok. If you want a double-click to run the Play command, click Set Default. Then click Ok twice more.

Reboot for changes to take effect.

Not quite the same. There is no "file types" tab in Folder option. Just "generel", "view" and "search"

You might want open regedit and look at

    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\DVD\shell\command\play

    my default value is

    "%ProgramFiles%\Windows Media Player\wmplayer.exe" /prefetch:4 /device:
    DVD "%L"

    and see if that helps

Note: remove the space between device: DVD

Thank you very much :) That worked allthough on my rig it is:
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\DVD\shell\play\command

The error was, that my commandline looked like this:
    "%ProgramFiles(x86)%\Windows Media Player\wmplayer.exe" /prefetch:4 /device:DVD "%L"

I don't know why it looked for mediaplayer in the 32bit folder?
But it is working now, and I'm happy and singing :)
