Re-partioned the hard drive

I repartioned the hard drive, and moved the HP Recovery from the end of the main partition. Now, when I start up, I get the message that the moved partition has to be checked. If I let the timer time out and go into the partition check, it counts down to 1 second and stops. Nothing happens. If I press any key during the initial countdown, then Windows 7 loads up nice and pretty. I would like to know if there is a location in the registry that I can alter/eleminate, such as

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\MountDevices

In theory, as I understand it, the machine will start up and rewrite new corrected data.

That's one reg value you have to keep for sure. The registry wouldn't be the place to start with anyways.

If 7 came preinstalled moving the recovery partition wasn't a good idea to start with since that is configured to repair and even restore the preinstalled Windows and offsets aby factory recovery options. Once you make changes to partitioning on any drive the checkdisk utility will fire up automatically being a builtin tool found in Windows itself.

You could try running the "chkdsk /r" command in the command prompt to manually start up the checkdisk utility while booted in Windows with the repair switch added. That may fix the problem and result in Windows creating a log showing that.

The even faster approach would be simply right clicking on the drive's icon while having a W.Explorer window or Computer open and selecting the Tools tab to run the "Check Now" option seen in that tab as a button to click. The attached image shows how that looks.

Thank you Night Hawk, I appreciate your response. I opted for the last suggestion and that seems to have solved the problem. :)
It is rather irritaing to me that I pay bug bucks for a computer, only to have the manufacturer inform me, he doesn't want me to alter his settings. But then, looking at at from the other end, the manufaturer is probably fed up with every Tom, Dick and Harry trying to change things this way and that. Oh well, that's why life is so interesting in the world of ones and zeros.

Following any partition changes seen even on custom builds it's always a good idea to run the diskcheck tool. Windows will often automatically prompt you anyways since that will correct any inconsistencies found as well as any errors discovered.

Even when going to replug in an external hard drive or flash drive you may see a prompt appear. Once the repairs if any are complete you should see a normal startup without hesitations. Glad to see that was all it took for you there.
