Stuck! Can't My HP PC To Work

    Hello All,

Here is my dilemma and the steps I have taken.

My tower crashed and I tried to recover it via the F11 hp manager. It went through the process and when it goes to restart I got a blue screen. Then I get a windows error recovery black screen.

So I then ordered the hp recovery disks (in case something was corrupt on the recovery) and used them but the same thing.

Then, I used partion wizard... I deleted partitions, wipe the drive all zeros and used the hp disks again and I still am getting this blue screen. Says fatal error c000021a, the screen pops up and disappears fast.

I don't know what to do at this point because I thought by wiping everything then using those disks will fix it.

    Any help??

Hi Toki, welcome to the forums :)

1 question is do you have any new hardware plugged into the machine since you first turned it on? It could be that a USB device is causing an issue with bare-bone drivers. Try unplugging any hardware you don't initially need then re-run the recovery.

    Hope it helps :)

    Thanks for the welcome!

No, I don't have anything plugged in, only the monitor, hp wired mouse and hp wired keyboard.

I just restarted it and now I am getting this pop up box. photo attached.

Every time I go to click ok, it restarts and this pop up box comes up.

Make sure you have the latest BIOS update. IF so, clear the CMOS: Repair Install Set the SATA controller in BIOS to AHCI first, then IDE if necessary.

Remove all but 2gb of RAM to try install. Test your RAM with memtest86 CD for 5-6 passes or overnight.

Test your HD using maker's diag/repair full CD scan: Hard Drive Diagnostics Tools and Utilities

See if you can find or borrow a Win7 installer for your version to clean install without the factory bloatware and unneeded utilities. You can unlock all versions in any installer this way: Universal Installation Disc - Create
