programs open in the background with hotkeys

i use a microsoft natural 4000 keyboard with programmable hot keys, if i am using a program ( media player / IE / a game ) and i use a hotkey to load a program ( firefox / another game / email ) it always opens in the background under the current window.

anyway to make the hotkey item become the main window ?

O.S. is 7 ultimate 64bit,

Have a look at this and apply the same principle to the programs you are having trouble with. It is possible that it might be resolved by a subsequent keyboard driver update.

What is a good free program to check for stuff running in the backround?
Programs for creating folder hotkeys
I want to be able to access individual folders with a custom hotkey. The built-in windows shortcut feature doesn't work because the shortcut folder has to be placed on the desktop. I used a program called ActiveKeys, but it expired and the license is way too expensive for what it does.
Programs running in background
Alright for the life, in windows 7, I can not figure out how to tell what programs are running in the background upon startup ie: antivirus, firewall, etc, and how can I add/delete programs in this area? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you; Mike M.
