There's no reason to hide an external drive letter, just store the image there like any other file.

If you have any WD or Seagate HD involved then I'd use the free Acronis premium imaging program which is included.

Otherwise use Win7 backup imaging or Macrium - Image your system

How do I hide a backup partition that doesn't have a drive letter

    Hi,
I've just had to reinstall windows 7 Pro on an Asus computer that had the backup files in a hidden partition. That partition is now showing in the folder list as drive F. I want to hide it but when I go to Disk Management it doesn't show a drive letter and when I right click all I get is a link to Help (which isn't much help!). Can anyone suggest a way of hiding it without removing it altogether?
