Windows 7 is acting like HAL, can't change permissions

Trying to change the permissions for:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Control Panel\don’t load

It denies me, I'm logged in under Administrator. Any advice? Thanks :)

I'm not sure why you need to change the permissions but you can try running regedit as administrator.
Right click on C:\Windows\regedit.exe and select Run as administrator.

I'm logged in as administrator though, so it's already running as administrator

I tried it though, just to see, same results.

Hello Werm, and welcome to Seven Forums.

Did you Take Ownership of the REG key first? It will not allow you to change the permission settings unless you are the owner of the item. Step 3 in Option Two of METHOD TWO in the tutorial below can help show you how to if needed.

    Hope this helps,
