Talk about "High Prices"! $5,711.99 and people are fussing over $300 + or - for 7 once out?
Well that works out to $190 a copy for vista ultimate. Which sounds about right. I can't imagine that W7 is going to be more than that. How stupid would it be to "get the OS right" this round and then price themselves out of adoption instead :)

So Vista had discs for volume licensing right. Thanks Hawk. That's what I need to know.
A bulk pack like the one seen there is intended for those who custom build systems on a regular basis for customers who each get a separate disk along with the machine itself. The disk used to preinstall Windows goes with the machine itself as part of the eula licensing agreement.

A good page to look over on how to package things to go along with a new custom build being sold is at Certificate of Authenticity

Vista has seen a price drop like any previous version has at this time. You would seen the bulk price even higher then that right after Vista's initial release tacking another $40- onto that at the time.

I have a feeling that the final prices will need to be seen first before answering the suspician I have that 7 could well see a price range close if not the same as seen back in 2007 for Vista. We may all know shortly by the 19th of this month now that we are in June.
