    Problems changing taskbar color


    Hi, when personalizing I used to get this nice screen...


    Now I get just a generic screen...why did this change?

    Check in advanced settings what you are looking for may be there.

    Can you post a screen shot of what the screen looks like now? If this just happened, you might be able to use a system restore point to just before it began. If you don't know when it started, you might be able to use the System File Checker to correct the problem.

    you might have switched aero off that changes what you see.

    Yep, without Aero enabled, you'll see the generic screen.

    Ok, that is helpful. How can I tell if aero is enabled or not? Where do I go for this option?

    Control panel > System > Advanced system settings > Advanced tab > Performance tab > Adjust for best appearance (make sure enable transparent glass) is checkmarked (see snip below)

    Also you can right click on desk top > Personalize from the drop down menu and select an aero theme.

has anyone seen this one before on 7000? I change the Windows 7 theme, but the 'color' always stays at custom and no transparency and no color intensity. no matter what i do, the taskbar will stay this gray color and not change to what i change it to when i click 'save changes'
hey, i put windows 7 on this older pc i have. its 32 bit ultimate. the pc has a p4 2.4ghz 512ram and a 128mb radeon 9200 which is dx8 so no aero. since this is my older and secondary pc im not concerned with aero on this cuz i know it will hinder performace. all i want to do is change the window...
