    Well I would have to say wait and see. It would be likely that Microsoft would be creating Win8 now in some type of build due to the size of the company take just taking a half of the Win7 team and move them to the new project and let the others finish tweaking Windows 7 for RTM. Its just how they would grow their company, create a change, or just screw with all of our minds.

    You can be certain that Microsoft is working on the replacement for Windows 7 - this is normal practice.

    Work on the next Microsoft OS normally starts about a year before release of an OS.

    if this is the actual OS only time will tell

    maybe they're going to jump over 7 and go straight to 8
    and 7 is just 8-beta
    and the second coming of XP in 2012

Can I install Icon Packs designed for Build 7600 to Build 7601? An Icon Pack was saying install on to 7600 only and after I checked my regedit, I learned that I have 7601 (Probably SP1, I don't know). Would I have any problems if I install the icon pack? Thanks.

Windows 7 has reached RTM builds and there will be several candidate builds in RTM. first candidate build of RTM is build 7260. 6.1.7260.0.win7_rtm.090612-2110 - RTM branch build compiled on 12 june.
