Disable click renaming of items in Explorer

    Hi folks.

Does Win7 finally allow me to disable this "feature"? It's one of the few things which I have an irrational hate for. If I want to rename the file I will use the rightclick context menu. PLEASE. I only use the left mouse button for two things: selecting something and doubleclicking to open something.

    Thank you.

I don't think it is possible to disable this feature, but there are people out there (including me :)) griping about the fact that it is not possible to click and rename in the left side folder tree (was possible in all versions prior to 7)

Do you mean the left side pane of an explorer window?

Yes, Its possible to right click and select rename. But clicking twice doesn't allow renaming there.
