    Keeping the Desktop organized..

So I run Battlefield 1942. It doesn't let me use 1280x1024 resolution, nor do I want it to.

Very frequently, when I close out the game, all my icons are way out of place and it's really aggravating. Is there a way to prevent my stuff from moving around ?

You can use a program that remembers the icons positions. Here is the one most use:

    Fences

I've seen this one mentioned as well:

    Desktop OK

Fences is much more well known of the 2. I haven't used either personally, but have know people that used Fences and rave about it.

Well, Windowmanager really works well in Win 7 to "remember" the size and position of all windows on the desktop. Unlike XP, native Win 7 dosent remember these things........

This program works great - well worth the $10

See the manager at DeskSoft - WindowManager - Window position and size manager

I'm going on a complete hunch, this will probably not work. "Right click" on your desktop, then scroll over "View" and check to see if "Auto Arrange icons" is checked, if so, uncheck it.

A mere hunch, I did say it will probably not work.
