    Blue and yellow shield icon.

Hello i got my new Toshiba laptop yesterday with Windows 7.
Whenever i try to download anything, i get to the 'install' phase, if i click on 'install' nothing at all happens. There is small blue and yellow shield icon that appears to be disabling my ability to press 'install'.
Just to clarify i have not altered any settings, and i am using the free McAffee trial that the laptop came with.

Make sure that you have permission

If you cannot give yourself permission, take ownership first

Do this only to personal files and not system files.

If not success, try in safe mode.

Can you please provide a snip/pic of what you mean?

It sounds like normaly UAC behavior but the fact that nothing happens is truly puzzling

My search results suggested that either McAfee is capable of corrupting the UAC or that the UAC files are corrupted :/

Have you tried disabling then re-enabling the UAC, then try install your app again?

Maybe try doing a file repair with the command: SFC /scannow

    Thanks for the response.
I did try and get you a screen print of whats happening, but now i can't even get that far, i get past the 'run' stages (when for example downloading bit torrent) and then that's it, the install phase doesn't even reveal itself. I get an error message saying bit torrent is already running but not responding. .

Sorry but i'm only familiar with windows xp, i don't know exactly what the UAC is sorry,

UAC's security protection can be changed. To allow easier, but less secure, use of your computer. Here is an official definition

Ive tried to disable UAC by turning its protection level down to 0. All that has happened is the window has simply frozen and now i can adjust it. Cant windows create anything that works?
